Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced
SQL Database Administrator (DBA)
with more than 6 years of expertise in managing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server databases. This role involves working across on-premises and Azure cloud environments, focusing on performance tuning, automation, high availability, and security. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in T-SQL development, automation using PowerShell, and monitoring with industry-standard tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer SQL Server databases across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Perform database maintenance: backups, restores, reindexing, and performance monitoring.
  • Implement and manage HA/DR strategies (replication, clustering, Always On availability groups).
  • Manage security (roles, permissions, SSL/TLS encryption).
  • Administer SQL Server instances on Azure (Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure VMs).
  • Execute migrations from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Automate DBA tasks using PowerShell and SQL Server Agent Jobs.
  • Implement Change Data Capture (CDC) for auditing, synchronization, and reporting.
  • Monitor jobs and system health using SQL Server Agent, Grafana, SolarWinds, and Azure Monitor.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and apply optimizations with indexing, execution plans, and tuning techniques.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to align database architecture with business needs.
  • Provide on-call support for critical production issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience as a SQL DBA.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server architecture, HA/DR solutions, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development (queries, stored procedures, functions).
  • Expertise with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and migrations.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for DBA automation.
  • Knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Experience with SSIS and SSRS (SQL Server Integration & Reporting Services).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools: Grafana, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor.
  • SQL Server Agent for job automation and monitoring.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Fluent English (speaking, writing, presenting).

Desired Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

  • Hybrid work model.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00–17:00.
