FX - Sr. WordPress Developer - 202

We're looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to support our team in maintaining and optimizing our website. This role is critical to ensuring our site delivers exceptional user experience, remains fast and reliable, and scales to support new product launches and campaigns.

The ideal candidate is both technically strong and operationally dependable. An ideal candidate not only writes clean code but also communicates proactively, prioritizes cross-functional needs, and continuously looks for ways to improve site experience and performance.

You'll partner closely with marketing, product, and design to build and optimize web experiences that tell our story, drive measurable impact, and reflect our brand at every touchpoint.

1. Site Development & Optimization

Own the development and implementation of new landing pages, templates, and content modules in WordPress.

Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive layouts with accessibility and performance in mind.

Maintain a scalable design system and reusable component library to accelerate future builds.

Continuously monitor and optimize for site speed, Core Web Vitals, and conversion performance.

Ensure that the website works consistently across different browsers and devices, addressing any compatibility issues.

2. Performance, Security & Maintenance

Manage plugins, configurations, and custom integrations for the WordPress site.

Support marketing teams in publishing and updating pages with consistent formatting and proper metadata.

Conduct regular audits and analyses of website performance to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

Implement caching, image optimization, code minification, and asynchronous loading to improve page performance.

Create and execute disaster recovery plans and monitor site availability, proactively triaging downtime or performance issues.

Manage and maintain staging and production WordPress data and configuration environments.

3. Content Support & Optimization

Publish and optimize content across the WordPress site, ensuring proper tagging and structure.

Implement SEO best practices and techniques to enhance visibility and rankings in search engine results.

Conduct ongoing SEO audits and performance tracking to identify and address technical issues (e.g., metadata, redirects, structured data, crawl optimization).

Assist the marketing team with schema updates, analytics tags, tracking pixels, and other technical marketing integrations.

4. Collaboration & communication

Communicate proactively on progress, blockers, and timelines – keeping stakeholders informed.

Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and design teams to translate briefs into functional, performant pages.

Provide technical feedback on feasibility and suggest alternative solutions when needed.

Manage deliverables efficiently through Notion.

• 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development (themes, plugins, custom templates).
• Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
• Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.
• Experience implementing security updates, managing plugin vulnerabilities, and maintaining a stable production environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages for security, performance, and responsiveness.
• Familiarity with network diagnostics and analytical tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and balance multiple priorities.
• Solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail and follow-through.

• Familiarity with Iterable, HubSpot, or other marketing automation platforms.
• Basic understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and A/B testing frameworks.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
