Role Summary

Marex has a growing presence in Brazil in Agricultural and Clearing activities, including the recent acquisition of Agrinvest, a relevant player in commodities physical brokerage, agricultural risk & educational consulting as well as the introduction of Brazilian and International listed derivatives.

This position will cover both Agrinvest and other Marex Brazil's activities and projects in Brazil from a Compliance perspective. The successful candidate will be required To implement, monitor, and maintain compliance policies and procedures, ensuring the company

complies with legal, regulatory, and internal standards, especially in commodity trading operations, which involve high regulatory and financial risk.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance and AML risk analyses for customers, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Monitor business transactions to identify potential misappropriation, fraud, or illegal practices (e.g. money laundering, corruption).
  • Develop and review international policies, such as the Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Policy, and Compliance Policy.
  • Provide regulatory compliance opinions for projects and new activities/services to be developed by Agrinvest and other Marex Group companies in Brazil.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives of Agrinvest and other Marex Group companies as a Compliance representative.
  • Assist and support the development and management of the Compliance and AML Programs of Agrinvest and other Marex Group companies in Brazil.
  • Conduct periodic compliance training for employees.
  • Monitor relevant national and international legislation (e.g., Anti-Corruption Law, FCPA, UK Bribery Act, Central Bank and CVM regulations) and conduct analyses.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentary and technical support.
  • Prepare compliance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Brazilian Compliance department.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the Brazilian Central Banco and Brazilian Securities Commission rules.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with the Marex's Code of Conduct
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required
  • To escalate risk events immediately
  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of regulatory legislation, internal controls, and corporate governance. A postgraduate degree in the field is a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years* of prior experience in commodities companies or financial institutions in similar roles (Compliance, AML, Auditing, Risk, Internal Controls, etc.). Previous experience in brokerage firms or securities dealers is a plus.
  • Advanced English (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in risk analysis and compliance tools (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis, SAP GRC).
  • Excellent English and Brazilian Portuguese verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
