As a
Senior Firmware Engineer
, you'll work directly with the CTO and our product team to design and deliver the firmware that powers our growing hardware ecosystem. You'll be hands-on from prototype to production, helping us build devices that make homes smarter and more energy efficient.

The role is hybrid – mostly remote, but with occasional in-person collaboration at our São Paulo office

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of firmware for IoT devices, from prototyping to production.
  • Work directly with the CTO on firmware architecture, performance improvements, and product roadmap execution.
  • Collaborate with hardware, product, and cloud engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Debug, test, and validate firmware for reliability, performance, and compliance.
  • Implement OTA updates, connectivity protocols, and power management strategies.
  • Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance where needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience
    in embedded systems or firmware engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of
    C/C++
    for microcontrollers.
  • Experience with
    RTOS environments
    and low-level debugging.
  • Solid understanding of electronics, hardware-software integration, and testing.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent English
    (spoken and written) – required to work directly with international teams.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with the
    ESP32 architecture
    (ESP-IDF, FreeRTOS, Wi-Fi/BLE stacks).
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols (Matter, MQTT, I2C, etc).
  • Experience with over-the-air firmware updates and secure bootloaders.
  • Familiarity with cloud integrations (AWS IoT, GCP, Azure IoT).
