A Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) oversees a collection of projects within an organization or client, to ensure they align with strategic goals, deliver value, and use resources effectively. A PPM manages the broader portfolio to optimize performance and prioritize initiatives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment: Ensure projects support client goals and strategies.

Portfolio Planning: Evaluate, select, and prioritize projects based on value, risk, and resource availability, supporting the account sell and bill targets.

Performance Monitoring: Track progress, budgets, and outcomes across the portfolio.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks at the portfolio level.

Stakeholder Communication: Report portfolio status to executives and key stakeholders.

Governance: Acts as the focal point for all project related topics, establishing and enforcing standards, processes, and decision-making frameworks.

Benefit Realization: Ensure projects deliver expected business value and outcomes.

Specialized Certification:

Mandatory:

PMP Project Management Professional Certification

Recommended:

Scrum Master Fundamentals Certification

Specialized Experience:

Ability to work effectively in diverse, foreign and multi-cultural environment

Experience in roles such as Account Manager, Program Manager, Transition and Transformation Lead, Account Delivery Executive, Client Principal, etc.

Proven track record of successful Program and Project Delivery

IT Services experience – experience with implementation of Infrastructure projects (IT Outsourcing, Cloud, Network, Security and Workplace)
