Credit Risk Specialist

As a Credit Risk Specialist, you'll be part of a high-performing Risk Management team shaping and maintaining our credit risk framework in full compliance with Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN) regulations — including Res. BCB nº 265/2022, CMN nº 4.557/2017 , and CMN nº 2.682/1999 — as well as IFRS 9 standards for expected credit loss (ECL) modeling and provisioning.

You'll take a hands-on role managing and monitoring retail credit risk exposures across merchant and consumer portfolios in a Type 3 / Segment S3 financial institution operating in the payments and acquiring space.

This role blends deep expertise in credit risk and regulation with a passion for data, automation, and AI — helping us build scalable, smart systems that keep our ecosystem safe while enabling innovation.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, implement, and maintain credit risk models and frameworks aligned with BACEN and IFRS 9 standards.
• Monitor and manage retail credit exposures from origination and underwriting to scoring and portfolio performance.
• Develop and validate ML/AI-based models for PD, LGD, EAD, and behavioral scoring.
• Build and maintain AI agents to automate risk monitoring, provisioning, and reporting workflows.
• Partner with the Credit Policy team to define limits, strategies, and credit appetite aligned with the company's RAS.
• Perform stress testing, scenario analysis, and model backtesting to ensure portfolio resilience.
• Collaborate closely with Data Science, Finance, Compliance, and Fraud teams to ensure consistency, explainability, and auditability across models.
• Prepare and present insights and reports for senior management and regulators.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Solid understanding of BACEN credit risk regulations (Res. BCB 265/2022, CMN 4.557/2017 , CMN 2.682/1999 , Circular 3.978/
• Deep expertise across the retail credit lifecycle: origination, behavioral scoring, collection, and recovery.
• Experience in the payments and acquiring industry, including merchant, settlement, and receivables-backed credit risk.
• Hands-on experience with IFRS 9 ECL modeling (Stages 1, 2, 3) and provisioning methodologies.
• Proven experience developing and validating ML/AI credit risk models.
• Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, R, or SAS) for modeling, validation, and stress testing.
• Familiarity with ICAAP and capital adequacy processes.
• Understanding of model governance, documentation, and audit requirements.
• Advanced English communication
