Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Project Manager with a strong Tax focus to lead and coordinate the delivery of SAP implementations and enhancements with a strong emphasis on tax compliance, indirect tax (VAT/GST/Sales Tax), and regulatory reporting. This role will serve as the key liaison between business, tax, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of tax solutions into the broader SAP landscape (S/4HANA, ECC, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end SAP projects with a focus on tax-related processes, including planning, budgeting, stakeholder management, and delivery.
  • Work closely with tax, finance, and compliance teams to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions.
  • Oversee integration of SAP with tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, SAP DRC, SOVOS) and ensure alignment with local and global tax regulations.
  • Manage cross-functional teams across SAP FI/CO, SD, MM, and Basis.
  • Ensure successful data migration and mapping for tax-relevant master data (vendors, materials, customers).
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for tax compliance and reporting issues.
  • Support audits, VAT/GST returns, SAF-T, e-invoicing, and statutory reporting deliverables.
  • Track and manage deliverables, milestones, and project KPIs.
  • Facilitate workshops, UAT, and training sessions focused on tax-related functionality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of SAP experience with at least 3 years in Project Management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO (esp. Tax Configuration), SD/MM tax integration, and external tax engine setups.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC in multi-country rollouts with tax compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with indirect tax laws (VAT/GST/Sales Tax) across various jurisdictions.
  • Experience integrating with third-party tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing SAP projects in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP, Prince2, or SAP Activate certification.
  • Experience with SAP DRC (Document and Reporting Compliance) or e-invoicing frameworks.
  • Background in tax consulting or compliance is a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of SAP GRC, S/4HANA Public Cloud, or SAP Central Finance a bonus.
