ArgoCD Specialist

About the Team/Role

We're looking for an experienced DevOps Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and operation of our GitOps platform using ArgoCD. You will be responsible for running ArgoCD at enterprise scale—supporting hundreds of Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments—with a focus on reliability, security, and developer enablement.

This role is part of our Platform Engineering team, building Fabric, our internal PaaS that enables product teams to ship business features quickly and securely. You'll work closely with peers in Kubernetes, security, networking, and CI/CD to deliver a cohesive GitOps experience.

How you'll make an impact

• Own and scale our ArgoCD platform to manage configurations and deployments for 100+ Kubernetes clusters.

• Design and implement multi-cluster GitOps patterns (app-of-apps, multi-tenancy, automated cluster onboarding, etc.).

• Evaluate and integrate enterprise Argo solutions such as Akuity or upstream enterprise support.

• Implement guardrails and policies to ensure security, compliance (e.g., PCI, SOC), and operational consistency.

• Optimize performance and reliability of ArgoCD controllers, repositories, and sync workflows at high scale.

• Develop automation and tooling (using Go, Terraform, or Fabric's DSL) to reduce operational toil and streamline app onboarding.

• Collaborate with application teams to define best practices for GitOps pipelines and incident response.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to the strategic roadmap for platform capabilities.

Experience you'll bring

• Experience in platform, DevOps, or SRE engineering, including production Kubernetes.

• Deep expertise with ArgoCD (multi-cluster management, RBAC, secrets integration, performance tuning).

• Strong background in GitOps patterns, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred), and automation at scale.

• Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS required; Azure is a plus) and networking fundamentals.

• Familiarity with compliance-focused environments (PCI, SOC, HIPAA) where security and auditability are critical.

• Proficiency in Terraform, Bash and a Programming Language for automation and internal tooling.

Preferred:

• Experience with Akuity or ArgoCD at Enterprise scale.

• Hands-on knowledge of Vault, Argo Workflows, Argo Rollouts and CI/CD ecosystems (GitHub Actions, Artifactory).

• Experience building multi-region or hybrid Kubernetes platforms (EKS/AKS).

• Demonstrated leadership: driving cross-team initiatives, mentoring, and setting architectural direction.
