THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Backend Software Engineer to our B2B Acquisition team in Brazil (Remote).

You'll be joining our Marketing Engineering & Platform (MEP) Focus Area - B2B Acquisition squad, which is in charge of the Wellhub SMB buy flow where clients can get in touch with our sales team or even contract Wellhub through our self-checkout features.

The Marketing Engineering & Platform team is part of the Engineering Product Development tribe inside Wellhub. We work on a daily basis with the Marketing team to ensure that their strategies are built and deployed in the highest quality standards.

YOUR IMPACT

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience;
• Build Integration with 3rd party API and tools;
• Support existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demands;
• Work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process and is laser-focused on productivity;
• Work closely with senior developers to seek for advice, learn, and grow your skills in a professional setting;
• Help troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise, learning to identify root causes and implement effective solutions;
• Support data-driven discussions within the focus area;
• Work with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scale;

WHO YOU ARE

• You're a backend engineer with experience building scalable and high-performing web applications.
• You have experience developing modern web applications and working with cloud-based architectures.
• You're proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Go, Java, or Kotlin.
• You have a solid understanding of developing RESTful web services, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, collaborating with front-end teams to define APIs, create mocks, and follow HTTP best practices.
• You have experience with monitoring, observability, and KPIs tracking;
• You have hands-on experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, or Redis and understand their common use cases.
• You apply computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and complexity analysis, to your daily work.
• You have a software quality and test automation mindset;
• You are accountable for your decisions and possess a high level of ownership over the products you are delivering. You take proactive actions to learn from mistakes;
• You have a strong desire to learn and grow your skills as a developer. You are curious, ask thoughtful questions, and are not afraid to admit what you don't know.
• You communicate effectively and collaborate well in a team, even in a distributed environment.
• You have professional working proficiency in English and can articulate ideas clearly in technical discussions.
• You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or have equivalent professional experience.
