Our Port Operations is complementing the Sao Paulo office operations staff in cargo care, stowage and planning and oversee the supply of equipment utilized for the loading and securing of cargo on all owned and operated vessels in accordance with our code of practice.

Job Responsibilities

  • Request port costs, restrictions and provide same to Chartering Department.
  • Plan and supervise cargo operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and adjust stowage plans for vessel stability, cargo type, and port constraints and support commercial team by recommending suitable vessels based on cargo and port conditions.
  • Supervise cargo hold preparation, including arranging supplies, hold cleaning, inspection, and readiness verification in line with charterer or cargo-specific requirements.
  • Liaise with vessel crew, terminal staff, stevedores and port authorities.
  • Evaluate port feasibility for nominated vessels, including draft, berth conditions and operational limitations.
  • Advising on turnaround efficiency, operational risks, and cost optimization.
  • Update of our data base with the latest stevedore, towage, underwater diving companies, surveyor, agency charges and participating in negotiations of agreements with subcontractors.
  • Ensure accurate cargo documentation and reporting of delays or damages.
  • Comply with the relevant safety and environmental regulations during port operations.

We Are Looking For

A candidate who fosters a good team spirit, is self-driven, communicative, and open-minded. They should enjoy bringing new ideas and continuously improving processes, negotiations, and economic thinking.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Preferably sailing experience as Master, Chief Officer, or Deck Officer.
  • Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
  • Basic knowledge of loading, unloading, and transportation of dry bulk cargoes.
  • High level of diligence, strong organizational skills, and a team player attitude.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice.
  • Physical fitness for attending vessels at anchorage.
  • Experience with common Microsoft Office applications.

Please note that due to operational and legal requirements this role is open only to individuals with a permanent residence in Brazil.
