Position Summary
We are a residential house cleaning company looking for a soft sales specialist. As a Soft Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for engaging potential clients in meaningful conversations to understand their cleaning needs and subtly guide them toward our services. This role emphasizes soft selling techniques, where the focus is on building trust, active listening, and relating to customers rather than high-pressure tactics. Drawing from principles in listening-based sales methodologies, you will prioritize empathy, mutual understanding, and tailored solutions to foster long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate and conduct inbound/outbound calls, emails, with prospective clients to discuss their house cleaning requirements.
Employ active listening techniques to fully comprehend customer concerns, preferences, and pain points, such as acknowledging their needs, and providing empathetic responses.
Build rapport by relating to clients on a personal level, demonstrating genuine interest in their situations, and offering value-driven insights without aggressive promotion.
Use subtle selling strategies to highlight how our services align with the client's specific needs, focusing on benefits like time savings, health improvements, and customized cleaning plans.
Follow up on leads with intentional engagement, asking open-ended questions to encourage dialogue and uncover opportunities for service recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of interactions in our CRM system and track conversion metrics to refine approaches based on customer feedback.
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery post-sale, reinforcing client satisfaction and loyalty.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience in sales, preferably in a service-based industry such as home services, hospitality, or customer support, with a track record of success in soft selling environments.
Strong proficiency in active listening, including the ability to engage intentionally, avoid interruptions, and provide tailored responses that reflect understanding of the customer's perspective.
Excellent relational skills, with a natural aptitude for empathy, building trust, and connecting emotionally with diverse clients.
Familiarity with listening-based sales principles, such as those taught in active listening sales courses (e.g., techniques for reading buyer cues, enhancing communication through acknowledgment, and transforming conversations into collaborative problem-solving).
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions and adapt messaging to individual client needs.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in sales or customer service are advantageous.
Proficiency in basic CRM tools and Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment, with flexibility for occasional on-site client meetings.
