ABOUT THE ROLEAs a SDET Engineer, you'll take ownership of building and driving a modern testing culture from the ground up.
This role goes beyond traditional QA — you'll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a shift-left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle.
By combining your Python expertise with a passion for testing excellence, you'll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable software that makes an impact.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Become the first SDET in the team and define how we approach testing; - Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure high-quality standards across our product;- Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing;- Collaborate closely with engineers to co-own and write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance);- Promote a "shift-left" QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process rather than leaving it as a final stage;- Continuously improve our testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.MUST HAVES- Strong experience of at least 4 years as a Python engineer (building production systems); - Proven track record designing and implementing automated testing frameworks;- Hands-on experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance/load testing;- Product-focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture;- Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes;- Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and make decisions without getting stuck;- Scrappy mindset: focus on delivering business value over unnecessary perfection;- Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and radical candor;- Full overlap with Eastern European Time or at least 6+ hours;- Upper-Intermediate English level.NICE TO HAVES- Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI); - Frontend experience (testing approaches and frameworks such as Vue.js or React);- Early-stage startup experience;- Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems;- Leadership experience.PERKS AND BENEFITS- Professional growth: Accelerate your professional journey with mentorship, TechTalks, and personalized growth roadmaps.
