Who we areTransport is at the core of modern society.Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future.If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.Powertrain Engineering work scope consists of engineering and design of engines, after-treatment systems, transmission gearboxes, rear axles and electromobility technology development.We contribute to the Volvo Group's position in the market by developing and maintaining profitable products in terms of quality, delivery, cost, and feature complying with all applicable regulatory requirements.Powertrain Engineering Application Center in Curitiba is responsible for the application of Volvo products in Latin America and supports global platform development in close collaboration with the engineering centers in Sweden, France, US and India.The Driveline Hardware team's scope of work is to supply Volvo Trucks and Buses with world class transmission systems.To achieve that, we engineer and design gearboxes, driven axles, clutches, retarders, power take-offs and electromobility related systems, developing the complete set of mechanical components.We work in an agile way, in a global cross-functional team of engineers with complementary skills committed to a common purpose of leading the technical development of solutions for heavy duty and medium duty propulsion systems.Position DescriptionAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will work cross-functionally in the engineering product development and maintenance of automated and manual gearboxes, rear driven axles, clutches, and other auxiliary components for both combustion and battery-electrical vehicles within the Driveline scope;Develop technical solutions for complete gearboxes, rear driven axles, clutches, and other auxiliary components and/or associated sub-systems (housings, gears, shafts, bearings, shifting, sealings, lubricants, etc.);Manage projects involving complete gearboxes, rear driven axles, clutches, and other auxiliary components and/or associated sub-systems, leading and organizing the cross-functional work in both local and global aspects;Be a member in project teams, representing Driveline and deliver technical solutions, including driving activities such as V&V plans, performance tests and design reviews, to meet project goals, requirements, and customer expectations;Drive quality related activities, by performing critical analysis, root cause investigation, evaluating the complete system, troubleshooting, proposing, designing, testing, and following-up solutions;Support global development activities in coordination with our colleagues in Sweden, France, US and India;Support manufacturing, purchasing and customer service areas in questions related to our products.Manage technical relationships and secure strong cooperation with related suppliers;Be active on the adoption of data analytics processes and tools, supporting their development within our engineering activities;Handle related documentation and process related activities (APQP, PPAP, Technical Regulations, BoM, Engineering Reports, Product Issue Logs, etc.);Interface with several stakeholders -
