Project OfficerBased in Brazil (Patrocínio, Poços de Calda (MG) or Franca (SP) )Full time and long term position, local contractTravels : up to 50%PUR DescriptionPUR is a global, impact-focused B-Corp specializing in supply chain sustainability.We design, develop, and implement nature-based solutions projects to help our corporate partners reduce their environmental footprint and meet their ESG targets.Many of PUR's projects fall within the categories of insetting, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, forest conservation, and landscape restoration.These projects aim to introduce more sustainable agricultural practices, regenerate and preserve ecosystems, and socially and economically empower local communities.Today, we employ 200 staff across 16 countries, with key offices in Paris (HQ) and Toronto.Industry DescriptionPUR operates within the dynamic and rapidly evolving sector of environmental consultancy services and nature-based solutions (NbS) markets.The NbS market has recently gained traction as society recognizes the invaluable services provided by nature and the need to preserve, restore and harness these services to mitigate and adapt to environmental challenges.To be considered a nature-based solution, projects must address real societal challenges and offer strong environmental, economic and social benefits for local communities.Market KPIs:If combined with deep decarbonisation efforts, NbS projects could provide up to 30% of the mitigation needed to limit global warming to 1.5oC above pre-industrial levels by **** (World Economic Forum, ****)NbS project credits make up the largest volumes of carbon credits available in the VCM (voluntary carbon markets ) with $9bn invested between **** and **** (Sylvera, ******,307 companies have set science-based targets - a 4.2x increase since **** – and a significant driver of demand within the NbS and VCM markets (SBTi, ****)The main role of a the Project Officer at PUR is tocoordinate and monitor launched projects with the objective to drive positive impact in the projects' landscape, coordinating PUR teams and external partners to leverage technical expertise, field knowledge and data insights.S/he isresponsible for the subprojects' successful roll out, i.e.meeting quantitative and qualitative targets in time while ensuring that the project budget is respected, until the end of the project.S/heworks hand in handwith Project and Data team members, KAMs and Specialists.The Project Officer's main responsibilities are:Project management (coordinate, supervise and monitor)Stakeholders management (Engage and train)Internal coordination & reporting during the project implementationTeam management & administration for implementing partnersS/hesupportsother teams in 3 main areas:Project design (validation of retro planning, financial and human resources)Reporting to internal and external audiencesRepresenting PUR's operational expertise in external events when needed(meetings, webinars, conferences)We are looking for a candidate with :Bachelor or higher education in Natural Resource Management, Agronomy, Forestry, Agroforestry, Rural Development or equivalentKnowledge and experience in working with rural producers on agroforestry and reforestation activitiesEase with data collection and data management toolsBasic knowledge in GIS systems, spatial analysis, and remote sensing.Knowledge of carbon certification requirements for afforestation/reforestation projects is desirableUnderstanding of coffee agricultural supply chains , including the diversity of local stakeholders and context-specific socio-ecological challenges is desirableExcellent project and stakeholdermanagement skills (implementingpartners, local authorities)A solution-driven mindsetLanguages: Portuguese (fluent), English (intermediate) desirable.Valid driver's license and availability for frequent travel within project areasAvailability to reside close to Patrocínio, Poços de Calda (MG) or Franca (SP), BrazilProficient in the use of CRM and ERP
