**T**itle:- Country Director**Division/Department**:Global Operations**L**ocation**:Brazil** *Country Office**R**eporting Relationship:- President of the Board / Regional Director**SUMMARY**Responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of ChildFund operations in the Country Office (CO), including Strategy development and implementation, Program Delivery, Partnership Portfolio Management, Sponsorship Stewardship, Resource Mobilization, External Engagement, Advocacy and Communications, Administration and support, Enterprise Risk Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Safety and Security.The Country Director is expected to play an important role in the evolution of CO operations with the capacity to operate with increased self-sufficiency (revenue center vs. cost center) and competitiveness while maximizing social impact and becoming relevant and a recognized player in Brazil while working with strong local partners, and fostering alternative creative/ innovative approaches to deliver social impact through Program Models.S/he will also guide the Country office team in ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiency (through the Global Shared Services where applicable), an organizational culture where ChildFund core values and operational principles are practiced with a high degree of employee engagement, appropriate systems in place and properly implemented, maintenance of good working relationships with local partners, government officials, and donors, ensuring all staff and representatives are fully aware of and adhere to ChildFund policy and commitments about Child Safeguarding.**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**- Provides strategic alignment and oversight and ensures excellence for a healthy growing operational portfolio with program quality, satisfied and engaged staff, program strategies with monitoring and learning systems, a portfolio of strong Local Partners, and an increase revenue generation via local fundraising (corporate and individual) and grant acquisition with appropriate pre- and post-award management.- Develop ChildFund reputation and brand among government, thinktanks, media, national and peer INGOs to pre-position, advocate, network and raise profile and reputation among key influencers important to children's right ensuring ChildFund is recognized as a strong child development organization and credible reference point on issues related to development, and specifically to be seen as a leader in children's issues.- Provide leadership in the management of functions associated with the implementation of Program Models and Delivery Mechanisms including but not limited to planning, implementation, monitoring, learning, and evaluation.- In conjunction with Global Shared Services (GSS), ensure optimal financial, human, and physical resource allocation and management and quality standards for successful implementation and contribution between the country and global strategy.- Oversee the recruitment and orientation of talent, providing talent management supervision, leadership, and guidance ensuring a high degree of staff engagement.- Supervise guide and mentor team members to achieve performance metrics and core outcomes and oversee the establishment and functioning of a strong, effective senior management/leadership team.- Closely cooperate with the GSS to facilitate and monitor effective and efficient delivery of financial, HR, IT and technical services to the CO while ensuring that adequate internal controls are in place to protect CO financial and non-monetary assets and that they are used in accordance with donor terms and conditions.- Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.- Drive, develop, and ensure the adoption, integration, and learning around key areas including child safeguard standards, monitoring and evaluation, disaster risks reduction, RBAs, gender equity and diversity, and that an appropriate/timely/ effective disaster emergency response and preparedness plan is in place and updated regularly.- Take all appropriate corrective actions, including disciplinary, legal or other actions in response to any violation of the Child Safeguarding Policy and follow up on any findings of a violation and review the applicable policies, procedures and protocols to identify and address any gaps or weaknesses.- Ensure the overall enterprise risks of the country operations are addressed, revised, and managed proficiently.**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE**- More than 8 years of experience in senior management position in the international child focused emergency response and sustainable development field.- Strong visioning and forward-thinking abilities, strategic planning, implementation ability and effective under pressure, results orien
