OverviewWe're looking for a senior-level Full-Stack PHP Developer who thrives on solving real problems, takes full ownership of systems, and communicates clearly and thoroughly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into existing applications, understanding how they actually work, and improving them with pragmatic, well-reasoned solutions.You'll work on production Saa S systems built primarily on PHP 8 and Code Igniter , spanning application logic, data modeling, and frontend integration. We value engineers who think end-to-end, explain their reasoning, and treat the product as if they own it.What You'll DoOwn application features and fixes from start to finish — from investigation and design through implementation and rolloutDeep-dive into existing PHP/Code Igniter codebases to debug issues, improve reliability, and reduce technical debtDesign and implement new features with attention to maintainability, performance, and clarityCollaborate closely with product and engineering peers, clearly explaining tradeoffs, risks, and decisionsImprove application architecture incrementally (schemas, services, controllers, APIs)Participate in production issue triage and root-cause analysis when neededProactively identify improvements rather than waiting for tickets Core Technical RequirementsStrong experience with PHP 8 in production environmentsHands-on experience with Code Igniter (or deep familiarity with similar MVC PHP frameworks)Solid background in LAMP-style stacks (Linux, My SQL/Maria DB, PHP, Apache/Nginx)Experience building and consuming RESTful APIsComfortable working across backend and frontend boundariesWorking knowledge of Java Script, AJAX, and modern browser behaviorStrong SQL skills and experience designing/debugging relational schemas Nice-to-Have (Not Required)Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar data storesExposure to CI/CD pipelines, basic Dev Ops workflows, or cloud hosting (AWS/GCP/etc.)Experience modernizing legacy PHP applicationsFamiliarity with containerized or service-oriented deployments What We Care About MostOwnership mentality — you don't just "complete tasks," you take responsibility for outcomesProblem-solving depth — you like understanding why something broke, not just patching itVerbose, clear communication — you explain your thinking, document decisions, and surface risks earlyComfort working independently without constant oversightStrong judgment when balancing speed vs. correctness Experience Level5+ years professional experience building and maintaining PHP applicationsProven track record working in real production systems (not just greenfield demos) Working EnvironmentResults-focused culture: outcomes matter more than hoursRemote-friendly, globally distributed teamHigh trust, low micromanagementDirect access to decision-makers and real influence over technical direction Why This RoleReal systems, real users, real problemsAutonomy to improve code and architecture meaningfullyOpportunity to be a true owner , not a ticket-takerCompetitive compensation with room for growth
