Job Title: Retail Managers (Store Manager, Assistant Manager, Retail Team Lead)Donated Goods Retail (DGR)Reports To: District DirectorFLSA Status: ExemptExempt Mission SupportGoodwill Houston (GWH) is leading change, connecting people, and improving the potential for the future of work.We educate, train, and hire individuals with barriers to employment to help them thrive.We connect people, families, and communities to improve lives and meet the workforce needs of today and tomorrow.Powered, in part, by donations and retail customers, we change lives through the power of work.Position SummaryUnder the leadership of the District Director, the Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the store and donation area.To ensure efficient and cost-effective operation through world-class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all management duties including opening/closing, all day-to-day store operations, and all Team Members.Reviews, contributes and operates within the store's budget and the budgeted expense-to-revenue ratio.Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating as well as the development of Team Members within the framework of GWH policies, procedures, and the Team Members' job description.Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs to include time frames outside of the management rotating schedule if needed.Adhere to working the established rotating schedule unless otherwise directed or approved by the District Director.Manage and influence the team by communicating clear company goals daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.Partner with the assistant store manager to create, prepare and post schedules, review/approve electronic timesheets, and monitor labor hours.Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers/safe.Execute GWH's workflow as designed by training, coaching, and documenting team member performances while assessing production progress on an hourly basis.Prepares and administers personnel and disciplinary actions and evaluations.Complete and maintain work orders, purchase orders, supply orders, petty cash, and expense reports and ensure these are submitted in a timely manner.Ensures the Safety Program is being managed efficiently.Accurately operate all store systems and ensure financial and statistical counts are completed (donor counts, production standards, etc.).Help ensure the proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the store according to GWH policies and procedures.Coach by Walking Around (CBWA) for approximately 80% of the time on duty to ensure team members are meeting minimum expectations.Help ensure the timeliness of proper rotation of apparel and hard goods according to GWH policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned by Management.Additional ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate professionalism and present a friendly, cooperative attitude.Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and work in a team oriented, fast-paced environment.Adheres to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations and GWH Guiding Principles.Must be punctual and have dependable attendance and maintain an appropriate appearance.Must conduct work in a safe manner; maintain good housekeeping standards, keep aisles and pathways to fire exits clear and free from clutter, and keep work areas neat and clean.May be asked to attend training sessions and participate in activities outside GWH.Adheres to local, state and federal laws and regulations.Minimum QualificationsPreferred: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in work experience.Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years of management/supervisory experience.Preferred: Two (2) years of retail sales experience.Good computer skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.Must have reliable transportation.Key Performing IndicatorsTransaction Value (Assigned District vs goal)Donor Value (Assigned District vs budget)Donors Integrity and Growth (Assigned District vs budget)Budget Sales vs Actual Sales (Assigned District vs budget)Payroll as a Percent of Revenue (Assigned District vs goal)Budgeted Profit vs Actual Profit (Assigned District vs goal)Retention Rate (Measured by annual leadership retention vs LY, 30 New Hire day vs goal, and Annual Retention Rate vs LY)Customer Service (Feedback from team, and secret shopper and donor ratings for assigned district)Change Round up as a % of Transactions (>30% and higher than previous year)Active with Zero hours TMs vs Goal (Zero (0) – 28+ days) (Assigned District)Administration - Performance management/Training (Assigned District at
