Backend DeveloperWe are seeking a skilled software engineer to enhance and scale our backend systems.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, passionate about clean code, and excited to explore AI tool integration.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign efficient Ruby on Rails code across backend systemsBuild and maintain robust APIs (GraphQL/OpenAPI) for mobile and web applicationsExplore and integrate AI tools (e.g., LLMs, vector search, embeddings) to accelerate product features and development workflowCollaborate on architecture decisions and security best practicesIdentify performance bottlenecks, bugs, and inefficienciesContribute to mobile development support for native iOS and AndroidPartner with front-end teams to ship clean, AI-augmented features users loveParticipate in development cycles from ideation to deploymentRequired Skills and Qualifications5+ years of experience in backend API development using Ruby on RailsStrong experience in full stack development (bonus: Python, TypeScript, JavaScript)Proficiency with GraphQL, OpenAPI, and RESTful architecturesAdvanced knowledge of Ruby 3, Rails 7, and PostgreSQL/MySQLExperience deploying and maintaining apps on Heroku (or AWS/GCP equivalents)Solid grasp of object-oriented programming, MVC, and ORM frameworksFamiliarity with AI APIs or tools (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain)Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud architectureStrong experience in debugging, testing, and performance tuningComfort with code review, documentation, and collaborative engineering practicesFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum workflowsAbility to communicate clearly with technical stakeholdersSelf-starter with a growth mindset and product ownership mentalityBonus Points ForPrevious experience integrating AI/ML models into consumer-facing productsContributions to open-source projects or developer communitiesExperience with microservices architecture or serverless patternsFamiliarity with SOC2, GDPR compliance frameworksMobile development (native or hybrid frameworks)
