Position Challenges (Chemical Hazardous Substances Specialist)As the legally responsible chemical professional you will lead the planning, supervision and monitoring of all chemical-related activities.
Work collaboratively with the team to analyze, develop and monitor plans and goals.
Monitor Environmental activities in coordination with the Environmental team.
Perform routine activities with an advanced level of complexity and make decisions in consensus with the manager.
You'll ensure the safe and efficient operation of chemical equipment and processes, while maintaining strict compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
This role demands technical depth, leadership, and a proactive mindset to drive continuous improvement and uphold LG's global standards.ResponsibilitiesOversee chemical product usage, equipment operation, and process integrityConduct audits, risk assessments and compliance checks aligned with LG and legal requirementsManage procurement, inventory and budgeting for chemical-related operationsPrepare technical documentation, reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPointCoordinate preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of chemical systemsTrain outsourced teams and supervise the chemical impacts on: utilization, safety risks, licenses and all aspects related to products.Interface with internal departments and external service providers to ensure high-quality execution and safety environments.Have a strong knowledge about chemical products handling (leakage preventions, countermeasures, action plans, hard stop situations, etc.).
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical EngineeringDesirable: Postgraduate studies in Industrial Chemical Management or Safety EngineeringSolid experience in industrial chemical processesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, FMEA, SWOTFamiliarity with Federal Police procedures (SIPROQUIM2), ANP and NR-20/23/26 regulationsActive CREA or CRQ registrationStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to lead, train, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teamsAdvanced English (will be tested during the interview).
