Role SummaryThe Senior Backend Engineer is a crucial position within Vingcard | ASSA ABLOY, primarily responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust backend solutions that power our innovative access control systems for hotels and adjacent markets. The candidate will work in a dynamic, cross-functional team to deliver high-quality software that enhances the functionality and performance of our products.Job Location: Brasilia, BrazilKEY ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain backend applications using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Java, and Kotlin.Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from design to deployment.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems.Ensure high performance and responsiveness of the application.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current backend technologies and best practices.Participate in code reviews, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers, helping them navigate technical challenges and grow in their careers.Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and documentation.Responsibilities And AuthoritiesAuthority to make technical decisions related to software architecture and design.Access to all necessary information and tools to perform role effectively.Responsibility for delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.Authority to mentor and provide career development support to junior developers.Reporting to the R& D Manager for project assignments and career development.Internal and External Contacts/CustomersInternal: Work closely with other software developers, QA engineers, product managers, and designers.External: Interact with external stakeholders during product demos or user feedback sessions.SkillsKey competencies, Relevant Knowledge, skills and compet EnciesProficient in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.Experience with observability technologies (e.g. Datadog).Experience with Git versioning systems.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.6+ years of professional experience in backend development.Proven experience with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.Familiarity with Git versioning systems.LanguagesProficiency in English for listening, reading and writing. Intermediate speaking skills in English.
