High School Science Teacher $45,000 – $75,000St. Joseph High School (Santa Maria)Expires11/14/2025DescriptionJob Summary: The primary responsibility of a Math teacher at St. Joseph High School is to facilitate the instructional planning and delivery to students in accordance with our mission to help each student image Christ in mind, heart, body, and soul.Our Josephite charism is integral to our identity as a school community; teachers should show all students the charism's commitment to building family spirit on campus through unconditional, positive regard.This position exhibits a high degree of independent judgment and must effectively communicate with students, parents, and other school personnel.Essential Job FunctionsPromote and carry out the St. Joseph High School mission in the manner of the Josephite charismDesign and/or implement courses and units that effectively promote department outcomes and adhere to the scope and sequence as determined by the divisionPlan what students will learn, how they will learn and how they will be assessed within a framework that features common assignments and assessments appropriate to the grade level within the academic disciplineEngage students in an active, effective learning environmentCollaborate with peers to develop, review, and improve curriculumProvide regular and varied assessments of student learning to compile appropriate grades and properly determine what and how all students are learningCommunicate consistently with students, parents and school personnelWork with appropriate administrators, the STEP coordinator, and/or counselors to support students that may have special learning needsKeep current and complete grading and attendance recordsRequirementsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree required (ideally Education, Physics, Science, Math, or a similar field)Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learningMaster's Degree or teaching credentials (or willing to work towards credentials)PreferredExperience working with high school studentsExperience as a classroom teacherFacility with CANVAS or familiarity using similar learning management systemsMaster's Degree in education, related area, or single subject teaching credentialExperience in a Catholic high school settingSkills and AbilitiesStrong leadership qualities and mentoring skillsExcellent skills in communicating both orally and in written formAble to work both independently and in a team settingProficient with Microsoft Office, Google SuiteAbility to learn new computer software systemsCore CharacteristicsAbides by mission to help each student image Christ in mind, heart, body, and soul.Positive, flexible, resourceful, and solution-orientedAble to understand, love and relate to studentsSalary & BenefitsThis position will pay based on the internal pay range and policyThis position is fulltime, exempt, and eligible for benefitsThe contract day is from 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, August 1 – June 30thTeachers generally work the second week in August – the second week in JuneIn addition to summer break, teachers also receive Spring Break and Christmas Break offWage RangeThe rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget.New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.#J-*****-Ljbffr
