Remote Senior Software Engineer Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced professional to join our engineering team.As a remote Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for modernizing and transforming our existing software and writing new features for our customers.The ideal candidate is someone who:Has excellent problem-solving skillsIs passionate about diving into and modernizing legacy systemsDrives high-quality industry and team standardsLoves learning new processes, terminology, concepts, and codeDisplays a deep curiosity about how banking institutions functionOur team is committed to delivering innovative banking solutions that enhance operations and improve members' financial lives.Key Responsibilities:Modernize and transform our existing software and write new features for our customersDocument our processes, products, and APIsAssist with software releases and ensure we remain on scheduleParticipate in story pointing and estimation activitiesReview code and provide feedback, as well as participate in pair programmingBe an Agile Scrum advocateWrite and maintain automated tests using tools such as Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, Telerik Test Studio, and Grafana k6Required Skills and Qualifications:Excellent English communication skills5+ years of software engineering experienceExperience with the React Framework and React Native or equivalent JavaScript frameworksExperience with a primary back-end language, such as C#, C++, or .NETExperience working with databases, such as Progress OpenEdge, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, and PostgreSQLBackground with Agile ScrumStrong communication skills and the ability to work well cross-functionallyA strong product sense, a high degree of empathy for internal and external users, and a desire to seek feedback from the same users about your workUnderstanding of development ergonomics, taking pride in understanding your engineering customersComfortable working with ambiguity and gets excited about collaboration to define complex problems better, determine solutions, and then execute on themThe ability to strike a balance between speed and quality of features to create durable technologyYou thrive on building scalable systems that are robust, resilient to failure, and easy to maintainA practice of keeping up with industry trends and assessing new technologies that can help solve problems betterTrustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent
