Establishing a robust supply chain function is crucial for the growth and sustainability of Vanuatu's kava industry.Supply Chain Strategies: Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with business objectives, focusing on quality control, risk management, and sustainable practices.Procurement Management: Oversee raw material procurement, ensuring timely delivery, accurate inventory management, and supplier relationships are built on trust and transparency.Farm Visits: Conduct regular farm visits to assess soil quality, cultivation practices, and compliance with sourcing standards, promoting best agricultural practices among farmers.Farmer Engagement: Lead farmer engagement through roundtable meetings, workshops, and training programs, promoting sustainable methods, improving crop yields, and enhancing supplier relationships.Warehouse Operations: Manage warehouse operations efficiently, ensuring accurate inventory management, safe storage conditions, and timely dispatch of products.Team Leadership: Provide leadership to cross-functional teams, driving reliable supply chain performance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring business targets are met.Risk Management: Identify potential risks across procurement and logistics and develop mitigation strategies to ensure minimal disruptions to supply chain operations.Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement through monitoring, analysis, and process optimization, ensuring the supply chain remains agile, responsive, and resilient.Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant food safety, GMP, and SQF certification standards, maintaining a strong reputation in the industry.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business, or equivalent experience.5+ years' experience in supply chain, procurement, or agricultural sourcing (food or agribusiness preferred).Knowledge of kava farming practices, soil quality, and agricultural supply chains (highly desirable).Strong background in supplier engagement, contract management, and risk management.Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted farmer and supplier partnerships.Why This Role?This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Vanuatu's kava industry by developing and implementing effective supply chain strategies.If you are a motivated professional with a passion for sustainable agriculture and supply chain management, we encourage you to apply.
