Project Engineer – Substations & High Voltage (ENGLISH SPEAKERS) Location: The Netherlands (on-site), 1-2 - year contract with potential of permanent employment, NOT project/freelance Are you passionate about large-scale infrastructure and high-voltage energy systems? We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of substation and high-voltage projects. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to energy transition solutions, and bring excellence to our electromechanical and protection systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop basic and executive electromechanical designs for high-voltage substations (69k V to 500k V) Prepare and analyze layout drawings, grounding mesh, cable routing, and auxiliary systems (AC/DC) Design single-line, three-line, and interconnection diagrams Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ABNT) Perform technical documentation review and approval (FATs, BOMs, technical specs) Interface with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams Contribute to engineering reports including ROI, CAPEX, and technical feasibility What We're Looking For: Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum 4+ years of experience in high-voltage substation design (preferred: 230k V to 500k V) Proficiency with Auto CAD (See Electrical, Eplan P8 or similar is a plus) Familiarity with SCADA, protection and control systems Solid knowledge of substation equipment: CTs, PTs, surge arresters, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnectors Experience with software like CYMCAP, Dia LUX, PVsyst (nice to have) Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environments English proficiency required; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus Bonus: Experience with renewable projects (photovoltaic farms, hybrid systems) Exposure to EPC projects and multidisciplinary coordination Understanding of ESG practices in engineering Why Join Us: Work with industry leaders in power and energy systems Get involved in international projects with real impact Grow within a dynamic and mission-driven company Remote flexibility and a collaborative, innovation-driven culture Who is Xelvin? What do we offer? Contract wise: · 1-2 year contract of 40 hours per week (with potential of long-term employment). · 25 paid holidays a year (+ potential ADV days)· Public holidays, with a maximum of 7 per year, which are paid by Xelvin. · Holiday allowance of 8.33% (instead of 8,0%) over your total gross annual income.
