About Garena: Established in **** and headquartered in Singapore , Garena is a leading online games developer and publisher with a global footprint across more than 130 markets.Garena provides global users access to popular and engaging mobile and PC online games that it develops, curates, and localizes.It champions games as a social and entertainment platform on which its communities can engage and interact.In addition, Garena is a leading esports organizer.It hosts esports events around the world that range from grassroots local tournaments to some of the most viewed professional esports competitions globally.The Free Fire World Series **** Singapore, which was watched by 5.4 million concurrent viewers at its peak, holds the record for the highest concurrent viewership of any esports match in history.About the position: We are looking for a User Research Lead who is committed and passionate about understanding people behaviour, taste and also about gamingThis role will be responsible for organizing, and executing researches with different methodologies aiming to provide actionable reports in order to improve Garena gaming portfolio.Our ideal candidate would be able to run with us, adapt to our needs, and stay humble throughout.If you are a driven person who wants to contribute to the gaming industry, we'd love to work with youMake sure to share your CV in English.Exclusivity contract required.Responsibilities: Analyze and synthesize player data to uncover insights on preferences, behaviors, and pain points.Plan and execute end-to-end research studies using surveys, focus groups, interviews, playtests, and other methods.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize research needs and align with project goals.Champion a player-first mindset across the organization by advocating for evidence-based decision-making.Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for game design, product, and publishing teams.Lead and mentor a team of user researchers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality output.Ensure consistent, reliable research practices that reflect the voice of players Stay current on research methodologies and gaming trends to continuously elevate research impact.Main job requirements: Bachelor's degree completed; 8+ years of experience in user research, including 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.Hands-on experience with both qualitative and quantitative research techniques; Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken; Skilled in designing and conducting surveys, FGDs, interviews, and usability studies.Strong ability to communicate insights clearly and persuasively to non-research audiences.Proven track record of managing multiple projects and collaborating across departments.Passion for games or a strong understanding of gaming culture and player motivations.Excellent project management and organization skills and familiarity with Agile methodology.Adherence to all core values.Available to work in person at our office in São Paulo, SP.Nice to Have: Experience in the gaming or entertainment industry.Proficiency with research tools like Qualtrics, SPSS, Dovetail, or similar.Be familiarized with ChatGPT and Gemini and open to develop AI skills
