About the RoleDental assistants collaborate with dentists and hygienists to deliver patient-centric care, prepare treatment spaces, and maintain dental equipment.As a member of this dynamic team at Howard University's College of Dentistry, you will contribute to the overall strategic success of the institution.Assist dentists during clinical procedures, preparing patients for exams and treatments.Take and develop radiographs, ensuring accurate diagnostic imaging.Clean and sterilize instruments, maintaining a safe and infection-free environment.Schedule appointments, record medical histories, and direct patients to treatment areas.Prepare sterile trays for surgical procedures and manage supplies and materials.Key Qualifications:Dental assisting certification (DANB) or equivalent experience.Registration license from the District of Columbia Board of Dentistry.Valid CPR card or completion within 30 days of hire.Familiarity with dental software and computer skills.
