Join to apply for the AI Automation Engineer role at Blue Orange Digital.Base pay rangeThis range is provided by Blue Orange Digital.Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Company overviewBlue Orange Digital is a boutique data & AI consultancy that delivers enterprise-grade results.We design and build modern data platforms, analytics, and ML/AI Agent solutions for mid-market and enterprise clients across Private Equity, Financial Services, Healthcare, and Retail.At Blue Orange Digital, we help organizations turn data into growth.Our newest initiative is a suite of AI-powered automations that streamline both our internal operations and our clients' workflows.If you love building repeatable systems that deliver "more with less," we'd love to meet you.Note: Please submit your resume in English, as all application materials must be in English for review and consideration.What You'll DoDesign & build automations in n8n with Node.js and Python, turning common workflows into scalable, reusable templates.Integrate third-party platforms (Google Workspace, Asana, HubSpot, etc.) by wiring up REST APIs, webhooks, and OAuth connections.Embed AI capabilities—use OpenAI/ChatGPT and other LLM APIs to add intelligence, summarization, and autonomous decision-making.Consult and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to gather requirements, demo solutions, and transfer knowledge.Operate, monitor, and improve existing automations: debug failures, refine prompts, and optimize performance and cost.Document best practices and build and maintain a template library so the broader team can quickly build on your work.What You Bring3+ years of automation experience3+ years software engineering experience (Node.js and Python preferred)Hands-on n8n (or similar low-code tools such as Make/Zapier) for production workflowsReal-world OpenAI/LLM work—prompt design, embeddings, assistants, cost managementAPI integration chops: REST, GraphQL, OAuth2, webhooks, JSON, error handlingVersion control & DevOps basics (Git, gitops, CI/CD, containerization)Consultative mindset: able to translate business pain points into technical solutionsExcellent written & verbal communication; comfortable presenting to stakeholdersNice-to-HaveExperience with Lovable or other AI App development tools Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and serverless functionsData engineering or analytics background (dbt, SQL, Airflow)Familiarity with CRM/marketing ops (HubSpot workflows, lead routing)Prior agency or client-facing consulting experienceWhy Blue OrangeImpact: Ship automations used daily by Fortune 500 clients and fast-growing startupsAutonomy: Own the roadmap for our automation suite and template libraryGrowth: Work at the intersection of AI and workflow engineering—constant learningPeople-first culture: Flexible hours, remote-friendly, generous PTO, health benefits, 401(k)Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesIT Services and IT Consulting#J-*****-Ljbffr
