Advanced Linux Systems Engineer

Job DescriptionAs a senior infrastructure Linux engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing real-time data systems.These systems power some of the world's leading investment banks and financial institutions.Your expertise in Linux system administration will be critical in ensuring the optimal accuracy and timeliness of data on a real-time basis.Key Responsibilities:Resolving data quality issues, including root cause analysis, while managing internal and external vendors to resolve data issues.Supporting on-call, incident management, problem, and change management processes.Ensuring the implementation of monitoring tools to detect data issues and maintain high-quality services on market data.Working closely with regional and global market data infrastructure teams to share knowledge and experience and enrich the team's capability.L2 alert management: managing alerts that require technical knowledge for resolutions, creating and/or updating resolutions into a knowledge base, run books, scripts, and ITRS rules where possible.Incident management: managing the incident lifecycle from identification to resolution, ensuring mitigation of business impact in the production environment.Change management: managing the process of making production changes to the ticker plant like mandatory updates, which includes content, software changes/upgrades performed by vendors or internal teams where only checkouts are necessary.Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will need:At least 7 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or production support roles.Highly skilled in Linux system administration and scripting proficiency (Bash and/or Python preferred).Experience in Windows operating systems and networking skills, e.g., multicast, routing, switches, TCP/IP.Good communication and oral and written English skills.Understanding of ITIL foundation and IT best practices.Prior experience in banking, investment, or other financial IT environments is advantageous.BenefitsThis is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills and experience working in fast-paced environments.If you have a passion for technology and a desire to work in a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.
