As R&D Electrical Engineer, you will join our South America R&D Center, an organization leading continuous research and development activities on transformers.
Specifically, you will be part of the R&D Team in Blumenau (Brazil), and you will contribute to the development of projects related to the electrical performance of distribution transformers and contribute to the successful roadmap execution.ResponsibilitiesPropose and analyze innovative ideas in the electrical design of distribution transformers to meet the challenging technical requirements of new markets.Define Design of Experiments (DoE) to validate proposed solutions.Design and supervise the manufacturing and testing of prototypes.Lead R&D project execution, ensuring performance, timelines, and costs are within expectations.Document project progress, draw conclusions, and develop design rules based on validated solutions.Protect validated solutions through appropriate intellectual property (IP) strategies.Support fellow R&D colleagues across the global Hitachi Energy R&D community by analyzing and optimizing electrical designs in other projects.Provide technical support to factories, sales teams, and customers when needed.Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity in all activities.BackgroundMaster's degree or currently pursuing a master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power machinery.Solid knowledge in Power transformers and ElectromagnetismPreferred tools and software: Creo, COMSOL, and MaxwellBackground in the energy sector or academic research is desirable.Availability: Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 15 days per year)Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
