Cloud-Based Billing Systems Engineer

Job DescriptionWe are seeking experienced Backend Engineers to join our team and contribute to the development of cloud-based billing systems.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Golang, a solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, and proficiency in container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Golang-based microservices powering our cloud-based billing systems.This includes developing and integrating RESTful APIs interfacing with external financial and operational systems, working with event-driven systems and streaming architectures using Kafka, managing containerized deployments using Kubernetes and Docker, collaborating with internal stakeholders across teams to deliver new features and maintain operational excellence, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues across distributed systems, participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions, and contributing to continuous improvement of system reliability, scalability, and security.Required Skills and Qualifications5+ years of professional backend development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Golang or proven ability to quickly ramp up.Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices.Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration and deployment.Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka or similar).Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.BenefitsAvenue Code ensures the privacy of all candidates in compliance with regulations such as GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, and CPRA.We value diversity and inclusion, and we are committed to creating a workplace that is welcoming and inclusive for everyone.Nice to Have SkillsExperience integrating with ERP systems such as Oracle, Workday, Anaplan, or NetSuite.Familiarity with API standards and tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth, JWT).Exposure to Temporal or similar orchestration tools.Knowledge of distributed systems, security best practices, and observability.
