Are you a skilled software development professional looking for a new challenge?We seek an expert to play a foundational role in building the core platform that enables power utilities to shift from decades-old legacy systems into an AI-native future.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work in small, agile teams reporting directly to the CTO, collaborating closely with AI engineers, security leaders, and product managers.Together, you will build and deliver AI-native services delivered at startup speed.The client is building an AI-centric operating system for utilities, harnessing AI at the enterprise level to better orchestrate customer delight, facilitate power optimization, improve the health of the grid, and unlock flexibility at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesFront-End Development: Build, implement, and maintain front-end applications using cloud-native best practices.Back-End Architecture & Development: Design, implement, and maintain APIs, services, and distributed systems that form the backbone of the client's OS.Ai Integration: Collaborate with Ai engineers to integrate models, embeddings, and agent services into back-end systems.Ensure outputs are production-ready and aligned with enterprise utility requirements.System Modernization: Transform legacy workflows into modern, secure, scalable codebases using cloud-native best practices.Security & Compliance: Partner with security leaders to ensure all services adhere to stringent utility-sector regulations, implementing secure coding practices by default.Agile Delivery: Deliver features and improvements in cycles measured in weeks, balancing speed with reliability.RequirementsExcellent English communication skills.5+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS or enterprise environments.Strong proficiency in React, Python, and either Golang, Node.js, or Java (non-Golang developers will learn and adopt Golang on the job).Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality code in fast-moving teams.Basic proficiency with AI/ML tooling (e.g., calling APIs, integrating model outputs).Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), message queues, and distributed architectures.Cloud-native engineering experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).Clear communicator, adaptable, eager to learn and grow Ai capabilities over time.Strong sense of ownership and accountability in small teams.BenefitsEnjoy a fun, fast-growing entrepreneurial environment.Be part of a highly collaborative learning culture, share knowledge, be inclusive, learn, and grow together.Embrace teamwork.Knowing your ideas are heard and matter, think big.You get to own your job and be recognized for your contributions.Work with innovative and creative people.Making mistakes is human.Let's learn from them.Be transparent.We recognize you as an individual, with no presumptions or judgment.Be the extraordinary you.15 days Paid Time Off (PTO), one floating day, three sick days, and designated national holidays.
