The Associate Project Surveyor will support the provision of technical survey expertise, assisting Project Surveyors and the Survey Manager in the safe and profitable execution of assigned projects.
They will help facilitate communication between all concerned parties, including customers, suppliers, and both onshore and offshore Company staff.
The Associate Project Surveyor will contribute to the ongoing monitoring and improvement of procedures to help ensure quality results are consistently achieved.The successful candidate will be based in the Rio de Janeiro area.
**Please submit Resumes/CVs in English.DutiesSupport the management of the project lifecycle, assisting with planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases, including post-completion reviewContribute to project risk assessments prior to mobilization under the guidance of senior staffAssist in reviewing and transferring project material from the bid stage to project teams, including contract requirements, technical specifications, and commercial termsSupport project execution and assist in identifying, documenting, and escalating contractual variationsHelp coordinate personnel requirements for projects in collaboration with Operations ManagementAssist in sourcing project equipment internally and externally to support executionHelp identify and report potential technical, commercial, and QHSE risks for assigned projectsAdminister and assist with specific project tasks as delegated by the Project Surveyor or Survey ManagerFollow appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to support compliance with Company standardsReview survey specifications in contract and project documentation with supervisionProvide input to commercial and technical proposals as requestedAssist in compiling project-specific survey procedures aligned with Company operating proceduresCollaborate with other disciplines to support the development of high-quality technical content for commercial and project supportStay informed on relevant technical developments, working practices, and Company proceduresProvide technical support to offshore teams when required, under supervisionAssist in quality control and contribute to the timely delivery of final reportsParticipate in project risk assessments before mobilizationSupport quality control of final deliverables to clientsAssist in liaising with internal logistics personnel to help coordinate offshore staff and equipment mobilizationParticipate in site and client visits as required, under supervisionFollow appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the Integrated Management System (IMS) to support compliance with Company standardsActively participate in the Company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs, including safety meetings and operational risk assessments, as requestedSupport the execution of operations in alignment with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System, ensuring safe and compliant practicesActively participate in the Company's Quality and HSE Systems and Procedures, demonstrating safe working practices and a commitment to continuous improvementUnderstand and comply with UTEC policies and procedures, particularly those related to health, safety, and environmental standardsRequiredBachelor's degree in Surveying, Geoscience, Engineering, or a related technical disciplineExperience in the offshore survey industry is desirableMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others in a collaborative environmentProficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications is beneficialAbility to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailWillingness to learn how to professionally present project materials and engage with clients under supervisionAbility to work independently on assigned tasks and contribute effectively within project teamsMust hold a valid passport free from restrictions that would prevent travel to countries where the Company operatesBasic understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) principles, including risk assessment and safety standards, with a commitment to ongoing development in this areaSeniority levelSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionJob functionProject ManagementIndustriesSurveying and Mapping ServicesReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at UTEC by 2xWe're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
