About the RoleWe're launching a new wave of Boldr energy management products, and we need capable hands who love building things. This is a fast-paced environment for people who thrive on hard work, tough challenges, and good laughs in the process.As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you'll work directly with the CTO and our product team to design and deliver the firmware that powers our growing hardware ecosystem. You'll be hands-on from prototype to production, helping us build devices that make homes smarter and more energy efficient.The role is hybrid – mostly remote, but with occasional in-person collaboration at our São Paulo office.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and optimization of firmware for Io T devices, from prototyping to production.Work directly with the CTO on firmware architecture, performance improvements, and product roadmap execution.Collaborate with hardware, product, and cloud engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.Debug, test, and validate firmware for reliability, performance, and compliance.Implement OTA updates, connectivity protocols, and power management strategies.Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and best practices.Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance where needed.Requirements5+ years of experience in embedded systems or firmware engineering.Strong knowledge of C/C++ for microcontrollers.Experience with RTOS environments and low-level debugging.Solid understanding of electronics, hardware-software integration, and testing.Ability to work independently and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Fluent English (spoken and written) – required to work directly with international teams.Nice to HaveHands-on experience with the ESP32 architecture (ESP-IDF, Free RTOS, Wi-Fi/BLE stacks).Knowledge of Io T protocols (Matter, MQTT, I2 C, etc).Experience with over-the-air firmware updates and secure bootloaders.Familiarity with cloud integrations (AWS Io T, GCP, Azure Io T).What We OfferOpportunity to work on meaningful products at the intersection of climate tech, hardware, and Io T.Build products that is used in 70+ countries and loved by thousandsA collaborative, international team passionate about solving energy challenges.
