12/07/2025IntroductionWe are seeking a Jr Project Designer to join our Grinding Product Engineering team within SVS GBPS team.You will be responsible for developing and managing detailed design solutions for horizontal grinding mills and their associated components.This role ensures the technical integrity, standardization, and quality of design deliverables, supporting global teams and providing mentorship to less experienced designers and engineers.Your role plays a crucial part to contribute to our business.This position is mainly located in Sorocaba/SP.Team you belong toYou will join a team of Service Engineering dedicated to Grinding Horizontal Mills.We work closely with multiple stakeholders, and our team culture is all about getting things done – together.You will review complex 3D and 2D designs for mill components and systems (e.g., trunnion liners, retaining rings, end covers, feed chutes, lubrication systems, etc.), ensuring functional and manufacturing compliance – bigger focus on Hydraulics componentEnsure adherence to applicable national and international design standards (ASME, ISO, DIN, etc.) and Metso internal design guidelinesReview and approve design work produced by other designers, maintaining quality and consistency across deliverablesPerform interference checks, basic structural evaluations, and design improvement proposalsPrepare and validate Bills of Material (BOM) and support documentation for fabrication and assemblyCollaborate closely with global engineering teams (U.S., India, Finland, Australia, Chile, Canada, and Brazil) to maintain alignment and share best practicesContribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies, standards, and CAD/PLM toolsProvide technical support to Project Management, Procurement, Field Service, and Technical Support teamsWho you areBachelor's degree in Project Technology, Mechanical Engineering or similarExperience in mechanical design, preferably with heavy industrial equipment (mining, steel, pulp & paper, or similar sectors)Proven experience in design detailing, drawing revision, and documentation standardizationDemonstrated ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional environmentsProficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (3D modeling and 2D detailing)Familiarity with SAP, Teamcenter, or equivalent PLM/PDM systemsStrong understanding of welding symbols, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Good understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processesStrong knowledge of hydraulicsExperience preparing and managing Bills of Material (BOM)Knowledge of machine design principles (e.g., loaded structures, material selection, power transmission systems, etc.)Familiarity with machining, gearboxes, bolting, welding, casting, and NDT methodsKnowledgeable on relevant international codes and standardsExcellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), with the ability to
