It's all done in concert with our tailored approach to planning that precisely answers each client's vision and goals.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Regional Transit Planning Practice Leader, we'll count on you to:Collaborate with HDR's Transit Planning Practice Leader to identify both global and local needs within the practice, industry trends, required skills and emerging markets in the service of developing and advancing a practice group strategy.Coordinate within each region to identify market drivers, and development of products to meet client needs.Present regional transit planning activities and needs on regular Transit Planning Practice Group callsContribute to the technical development of transit planning staff in the region in all areas of transit planning including policy, systems/network planning, corridor planning and development, operations and safety, funding, and associated aspects of all transit modes (paratransit, fixed route, demand response, express bus, bus rapid transit, light rail, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, etc.)Identify market opportunities in close coordination with Area Business Development Leaders and develop winning pursuit strategies.Identify industry talent and work with Area and Corporate leadership to attract and retain transit planning staffLead workshare communications that result in technical excellence and enhanced utilizationsServe as a project manager for major transit projects and leverage HDR's global expertise to deliver quality work on time, while meeting or exceeding client expectationsRepresent HDR at state and regional level professional organizationsPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline requiredMinimum of 10 years of relevant experience in transit planning with preference for experience in a number of areas of transit planningExperience developing and implementing strategic plans related to team-building, skills development, and/or business development.Master's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related disciplineProfessional registration such as AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferredRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related fieldA minimum of 10 years' experience with transportation planningPossess excellent analytical and communication skillsUnderstanding of transit planning principlesPositive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnelSolid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
