Backend Software EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to design and build server-side components using Java.This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams for backend performance and security, while contributing to innovative digital experiences.Key Responsibilities:Backend DevelopmentDesign and build APIs and databases using Java and relevant frameworks, ensuring maintainable code.API WorkImplement and integrate RESTful APIs, manage data validation and handle errors, possibly integrating with external services.Database ManagementDesign and optimize databases for performance, maintain data integrity and work with various database systems.Testing & QAConduct unit and integration tests to maintain code quality, identify bugs and optimize performance.Team CollaborationEngage with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.Technical Competencies:Java ProgrammingStrong knowledge and experience in the Java programming language, understanding of core concepts, syntax and best practices.Server-Side DevelopmentExperience in building server-side applications and APIs using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.Relational DatabasesProficiency in working with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle, knowledge of SQL, data modeling and database optimization.Web DevelopmentUnderstanding of web development concepts and technologies such as RESTful APIs, JSON and XML.Java Frameworks and LibrariesFamiliarity with popular Java frameworks and libraries such as Spring Framework, Hibernate or Apache Kafka.Unit TestingExperience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit, knowledge of software testing principles and practices.Version ControlProficiency in using version control systems like Git for code management and collaboration.Analytical and Problem-Solving Competencies:Analytical SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in the backend code and infrastructure.Performance OptimizationKnowledge of performance optimization techniques, such as caching, indexing and query optimization, to ensure efficient and scalable backend systems.Cloud Experience:Cloud ServicesExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, ability to deploy and manage applications in a cloud environment, leveraging cloud services for scalability and performance.
