OverviewSenior Software Engineer (Remote First, Java/Kotlin) — remote contractor role at Kuali, Inc.
We are seeking two Senior Full Stack Java Engineers to join our team as remote contractors, based in Brazil or across Latin America, supporting a US engineering team delivering enterprise software and excellent customer experiences.We are a remote-first, results-driven team that values impact over hours.
We operate with a four-day work week policy (Monday–Thursday) and measure success by the results you deliver and the impact you create.ResponsibilitiesOwn, maintain, and evolve an important area of our software systems written in Java using the Spring framework.Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and leaders as part of a world-class software engineering team.Contribute to both greenfield initiatives and refactoring projects; work across front-end and back-end as needed.About You3+ years of experience building software or web applications with object-oriented or functional programming languages.Willing to work on web applications on both the front-end and back-end.Familiar with agile methodologies; collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers; use real-time feedback to solve problems iteratively.Interest in using tests to verify functionality; comfortable taking ownership without relying solely on testers.Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills; fluent in English (company official language).
