Determine weathering rates for enhanced weathering of silicate rocks applied to soils.
Requirement Profile - Knowledge, Skills & Experiences
**Essential**: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or Earth Science;
**Desirable**: PhD or MSc by research, in Hydrogeology or Geochemistry;
**Essential**: Experience in critical interpretation of chemical analyses of groundwater, including use of geochemical models of groundwater chemistry such as PHREEQC;
Experience in working in the field (e.g. soil and/or water sample collection) and laboratory (use of analytical instruments for water analysis);
**Desirable**: Experience of Reaction Path Modelling or other kinetic approaches to describe silicate mineral weathering;
Experience of designing and constructing laboratory experiments to investigate water-rock interactions in soil systems;
**Essential**: Career development in an active research environment;
Production of original published papers and conference presentations, appropriate to career stage, on the chemistry of groundwaters;
**Desirable**: Career development in a commercial setting, delivering to business-related goals and targets.
