The Operating Division comprises two business units: Qube Logistics and Infrastructure and Qube Ports and Bulk.About the roleThe Rail Planner's primary objective is to manage rail operations and planning in a safe, environmentally sensitive and efficient manner.This involves close customer consultation and implementing, monitoring and reporting of rail services and train operations in accordance with company requirements.This position is responsible for the management of BSL container and wagon assets in a manner that meets QLRS and customer business requirements.Role Location: West Melbourne, VICRole Type: Full TimeWhat your role at Qube will look likeLeading and Embedding a Safety CultureDemonstrate and disseminate a positive safety culture throughout all levels of the business and operationsMentor and encourage employee consultation programs that add value to site safety, health, risk management, environmental compliance and qualityDevelop, comply with and promote the QLRS Safety, Health and Environment Management Plan and QLRS Master Risk Register and participate in annual rail safety, internal and external audits of all QLRS locations and operationsEstablish procedures, protocols and processes to detect potential causes of incidentsAssist in the development and promotion of the QLRS SMS by ensuring that risks are identified, eliminated, mitigated or managed so far as is reasonably practicableEnsure that the relevant persons are notified of all category A and B rail safety incidents in accordance with QLRS SMSReview mainline and rail terminal operations to ensure compliance with rail safety requirementsEnsure that rail safety accreditation and compliance with regulatory requirements are maintained through periodic management, meeting review of risk, KPIs and auditsParticipate in accident and incident investigations and ensure that appropriate follow up actions are takenOperational & People LeadershipCreate weekly schedule in conjunction with customer requirements.Path and amend all services to align with program.Manage QUBE CONNECT for loading of services and ensure data integrity.Manage jobbing up of containers in MaximusMaximize service capacity and locomotive utilizationInfluence the teams responsible for the management of train services and resources in a live run environmentProviding timely operational information and operational support to the QLRS managersPrior to the commencement of new operations, review the resource allocations and the resource plan and ensure that the proposed operations are conducted in accordance with those conditionsProvide support to VIC broad gauge train and steel terminal operationsFinancial ManagementImplement plans that ensure resources for the quality, efficiency, safety and costs of rail operationsRevenue and cost management to ensure the rail business plan is met and/or exceededCustomer ManagementCustomer account management to ensure all needs per the contract are being met and customer expectations are being met and/or exceeded on a day to day basis.Leading Customer business review processes, frequency and scope as agreed with each customerProviding customer service to internal and external customersPromote QLRS in all forums to raise the organisation's profile within industry and to generate additional interest from potential customersWhat you can bring to QubeTo be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following;A minimum of 5 years experience in rail operationsGreat interpersonal and communication skillsReliable, team player, with a can-do attitudeDeveloping Financial Management to deliver optimum financial resultsCommercially AstuteHigh level of Customer service to meet and exceed customer expectationsStrong commitment to safety and BeSafe ideologyBenefitsUp to 50% off gyms, studios, active wear, healthy meals, supplements, recovery and more through the Qube Fit program.Discounted health insuranceSpecial paid leave to participate in volunteering activitiesUnlimited access to employee assistance program delivered through SonderGenerous paid parental leave for eligible employeesOngoing learning, development, and training opportunities for employeesQube recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment.
