About Flatiron Software Co.Flatiron is a fully remote, US-based software company delivering high-impact, modern digital experiences.We work with mission-driven organizations, media groups, and product teams to build scalable, accessible, and performant web platforms.We're currently seekingfull-stack developersto join our engineering team, with a strong emphasis ondeep WordPress and modern JavaScript experience.About the RoleWe're looking for a highly skilledSenior WordPress Developerto join our global engineering team.This position focuses on backend development — building and optimizing custom WordPress plugins, APIs, and integrations for large-scale, high-performance websites.The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of WordPress internals, experience working with enterprise clients, and a strong understanding of scalable, maintainable code.ResponsibilitiesDesign and developcustom WordPress pluginsand themes from scratch using PHP, MySQL, and modern best practices.Implementadvanced custom fields (ACF),custom post types, andtaxonomiesfor structured data management.Optimize database queries and improve performance across complex WordPress sites (meta queries, caching, indexing).Integrate WordPress withthird-party APIsand automation tools (REST, webhook systems, Make/Zapier, Algolia, etc.).Develop and maintaincron jobs, background tasks, and data synchronization scripts.Build and maintainGutenberg blocksor React-based admin components when required.Ensure sites meetperformance, accessibility, and SEO standards(Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals).Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, QA, design) followingAgilepractices.Write clean, well-documented, andunit-testedcode following OOP principles and WordPress coding standards.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of professional WordPress development experience, focusing on backend and custom plugin work.Strong proficiency inPHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Experience withWordPress hooks (actions & filters), custom queries, and optimization strategies.Proficient inACF,CPT UI,Gutenberg, andWooCommerce.Solid understanding ofWordPress REST API,webhooks, andAPI integrations.Familiarity withversion control (Git)andCI/CD pipelines.Experience withperformance optimization, caching mechanisms, and scalable WordPress architectures.Advanced written and spokenEnglish(international client communication required).Benefits- Yearly Office Allowance Budget- Macbook Purchase Support- Wellbeing SupportIf you think that you are a good fit for the position, please apply through .Only CVs that are in English will be accepted.Flatiron Software Co has a zero tolerance to discrimination policy.In this regard, during the course of the evaluation of your job application and during all your employment relation, if any, all discriminatory factors such as race, sex, sexual orientation, social gender definitions/roles, colour, national or social background, ethnicity, religion, age, disablement, political opinion or any status that is protected under law shall be totally disregarded.
