Transforming Mental Health Care with Conversational AIYuna bridges accessibility gaps with instant and private support.With lengthy waiting times for therapists and unaffordable care, Yuna addresses immediate needs.We're growing, shaping the future of mental health technology with each new team member.As a staff-level engineer, you'll lead conversational AI development: from problem framing to model deployment and monitoring.Manage the end-to-end model lifecycle: data curation, modeling, post-training, evaluation, rollout, and monitoringCollaborate with clinical psychologists to ensure conversational AI efficacyDesign safe retrieval systems and agentic flows for mental-health use casesBuild and own the evaluation flywheel: benchmarks, model judging, and conversational quality metricsImplement alignment and safety layers for self-harm detection, refusal strategies, and escalation pathsOptimize latency, cost, and qualityPartner with product, sales, and users to develop new features and scopeEstablish LLMOps: datasets, prompts, versioning, observability, drift monitoring, and incident response for model qualityRequirements:5+ years in ML/AI with 3+ shipped LLM/NLP systems in productionDeep Python and deep learning skills (PyTorch/JAX/TensorFlow), retrieval/RAG, embeddings, reranking, and long-context summarizationExperience building agentic systems and rigorous eval harnessesStrong product sense, prioritizing user outcomes over model metricsComfort working with ambiguity and creating novel systems
