The app is built on Rails with a sleek mobile webview — and it's scaling fast across Europe, Japan, and the UK.What You'll BuildYour first months will focus on two high-impact projects: A custom in-house customer service platform (think Zendesk, rebuilt for the privacy-sensitive needs of a dating app) A story-based matching feature where users connect through shared fantasies — match on desire, not looks.
Both projects will stretch your backend muscles and offer plenty of room to improve architecture, performance, and team processes.Day-to-Day Responsibilities Implement backend features in Ruby on Rails for both web and mobile Design performant APIs and services that scale Collaborate with frontend (Vue/React) and mobile freelancers Refactor legacy logic and improve performance on high-traffic code Drive technical decisions as you grow into deeper ownership Requirements 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails Strong database skills (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB) Solid frontend awareness (React/Vue, HTML/CSS) — you'll interface with it, not own it Collaborative mindset — you'll work with a distributed team across LATAM and Europe Familiarity with mobile (Swift/Kotlin) ecosystems is a plus Self-sufficient, communicative, and product-aware Nice-to-Have Hotwire, WebRTC, AI/LLM interest Experience with moderation tools, chat/messaging features, or user privacy systems Benefits Fully remote, async culture — work autonomously with no micromanagement Join a senior team with real product vision Trip to Paris after 8 months to meet the team ??
