Segmento: Não InformadoAtividades:As the Ubuntu Quality Engineering Manager, you must be passionate about the future of Ubuntu, mindful of the dynamics of the open source ecosystem, and equally aware of mission-critical requirements.You will work closely with various teams involved in creating Ubuntu and influence their practices to improve quality at every step of Ubuntu engineering.Your goal is to rethink how a Linux distro approaches quality—integrating automation, third-party analysis tools, community and user feedback, and internal testing capabilities.Your team will monitor, develop, and improve the quality of the Ubuntu System, aiming for excellence and best DevOps practices across Ubuntu Desktop, Server, Containers, and VMs at package, system, and cluster levels.As an engineering manager at Canonical, your role is technical, but your primary focus is your team.You are expected to help your team grow as engineers, perform meaningful work, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community.Technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering are prerequisites for this role.You will lead, challenge, and develop strong engineers, influence the culture positively, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on strategy and execution.What you'll do:Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholdersAdvocate and promote modern, agile software development practicesDevelop and evangelize excellent engineering and organizational practicesSet up and maintain continuous integration for all supported deliverablesDefine and monitor quality metricsBuild a team with a culture of high quality and performanceWork remotely with international travel twice a year for up to two weeksWho you are:You have a strong background in software engineering, Linux, and open sourceYour technical skills include C/C++, Python, and Shell scriptingYou have experience with data science to support data-driven quality strategiesYou are familiar with quality processes and continuous integration tools and principlesYou have engineering management experience and enjoy developing peopleValued additional experience:A good understanding of Debian packaging and snaps is advantageousFamiliarity with agile development environmentsLocation: RemoteApplication process: Interested candidates should apply through the Caderno Nacional portal.
