Part-Time Medical Assistant (PRN) – Centre, ALMainStreet Family Care is growing and we're looking to hire a fast, fun and friendly Part-Time Medical Assistant to work in our Centre Region, subject to work as neededOur Medical Assistants provide great service to our patients, offering excellent care.Services provided include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine.The ideal applicant will assist the onsite provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge.Flexibility is a mustResponsibilities:ClinicalPrepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instrumentsTake patient histories and vital signsPrepare patient for examination and treatmentDispense medication as directedInstruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicableHandle telephone calls from clients, patients, prospective patients, physicians, pharmacies, as well as other staffProvide solutions to patient concerns within the scope of positionClericalPatient intake including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and collectionsProvide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companiesCorrespondence by phone, in person, or in writing regarding patient care, i.e. insurance carriers, physicians, non-clinic physiciansMaintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians' review, etc.Assist with scheduling of tests and treatmentsComplete opening and closing proceduresOther DutiesMaintain disposable and non-disposable supplies, i.e. wound care supplies, laundry, etc.Annual training as neededHelp produce and maintain patient education instruction hand-outsMaintain clean, professional working/treatment areaAccept and assume responsibility for special projects as they ariseAll other duties as assignedRotating Schedule:Clinic staff will be split into two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Each shift will work on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend, sample below:MainStreet Clinic HoursMonday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.KidsStreet Clinic Hours (Montgomery, Pelham, Mobile, Columbus only)Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.Flexibility for the schedule is a mustMainStreet and KidsStreet clinic hours subject to change.Qualifications:Minimum High school diploma or equivalentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)Prior Medical Assisting experience or education is beneficial, but not requiredCompensation and Benefits:Position begins at $14/hr.Mileage payMAINSTREET FAMILY CARE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER*Standard pre-employment background checks and drug screens are performed.#J-*****-Ljbffr
