We offer UK visa sponsorship for exceptional candidatesAbout TracerMany scientists struggle to debug broken bioinformatics pipelines they use for research, slowing down the velocity of new scientific breakthroughs like drug development, that could help millions of people.To fix this, we're building an advanced observability platform for high-performance computing.Backed by $3M in funding from top investors and located in the heart of London, we're assembling a founding team to accelerate.Ready to make an impact?About The RoleAs our Founding Product Engineer, you'll have the rare opportunity to design, build, and launch every user-facing experience for web and mobile from scratch.You will be solely responsible for developing and maintaining the entire front-end and full-stack systems, integrating with backend services and infrastructure.Full-stack experience is required, you'll manage everything from infrastructure through backend connections to UI.This role offers large autonomy and responsibility, ideal for someone ready to lead technically and shape the product foundation.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build, and deploy full-stack applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and related technologiesFully own web and mobile features end to end:Real-time observability dashboardsAdvanced data visualisationsBackend integrations and data flowDeploy, maintain, and scale applications independently with Vercel and AWSConnect front-end systems to backend databases (Clickhouse) and internal APIsEstablish engineering standards, build foundational tooling, and support future hiringPartner closely with design, product, and backend teams to ensure cohesive developmentSkills & Experience (required)3+ years building and launching complex full-stack applications independentlyDeep expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScriptProven ability to ship and maintain production-grade systems end to endExperience deploying and scaling applications using Vercel and AWSStrong product mindset, aligning technical decisions with user and business needsComfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving, early-stage environmentBonus QualificationsExperience with Clickhouse or other high-performance data platformsPrior experience as the sole or lead engineer on major product launchesEarly-stage startup or entrepreneurial experienceCore: Next.js, TypeScript, Vercel, AWS, ClickhouseAdditional (not required): Rust (backend), Nextflow, AlphaFold, Terraform, eBPFNote: Full-stack experience is required.Additional tech experience is beneficial but not essential—adaptability, fundamentals, and curiosity are our priorities.Application InstructionsA link to your portfolio, GitHub, or live products built from scratchA short write-up outlining your most impactful technical achievement, your role, and key learningsInterview Process (subject to change)Initial call with Talent (30 min)Intro call with Founder or Lead Engineer (30 min)Take-home technical assignmentTechnical interview (1 hour)Meet the TeamLearn more about who you'll be working with: to learn more about Tracer?Visit our website: levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesSoftware DevelopmentReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Tracer by 2x#J-*****-Ljbffr
