Salary : *********** usdLocation:Remote??Commitment Required:Full availability (8 hrs/day) with at least 4 hours overlap with PST (8pm–12pm IST)Mandatory Skills:Python, FastAPI, RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, software engineering best practices, team leadership, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git, scalable design patternsRole OverviewWe are looking for a highly skilled Python/FastAPI Development Lead to join an exciting Reinforcement Learning (RL) Gym project.You will help architect scalable APIs, enhance backend performance, and collaborate with ML researchers to power cutting-edge RL experiments and simulations.No prior RL Gym experience is required, but it's definitely a plus? High-impact roleScalable systems & performanceCross-functional collaborationResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain FastAPI services that support experimentation workflows and RL simulation environmentsCollaborate closely with ML engineers to expose APIs for training, evaluation, and benchmarkingWrite clean, scalable, production-ready Python code with strong emphasis on maintainabilityTroubleshoot performance issues, optimize pipelines, and ensure smooth application deploymentsRequired Skills4+ years of experience in Python development, including 2+ years of hands-on FastAPI work for high-performance backends2+ years of team leadership experience mentoring teams of 5+ developersStrong ability to review code, give constructive feedback, and maintain high coding standards through PR mergesExcellent ownership mindset with proven ability to identify risks early and manage end-to-end deliveryExpert-level FastAPI knowledge (Flask/Django helpful but not a substitute)Strong background designing RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and managing full API lifecyclesSolid understanding of engineering best practices including test automation, CI/CD, Git workflows, and scalable architecture patternsFamiliarity with NumPy and Pandas; exposure to TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plusNice-to-have familiarity with Reinforcement Learning environments (OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, Stable Baselines)Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldNice to HaveExperience working with RL environments (OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, Stable Baselines)Exposure to deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlowHands-on experience with SQL or database design for data-driven applicationsBackground in cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
