**About the Role**
As a Tax Manager, you will lead and manage tax advisory and planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax position.
You'll provide strategic guidance on complex tax issues, identify opportunities for tax savings, and support business decisions with tax-efficient strategies.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, advise on the tax implications of various business transactions, and ensure alignment with the company's financial goals.
You will also mentor junior staff and contribute to shaping the company's long-term tax strategy.
- Develop a deep understanding of the product and business operations to evaluate the tax implications of new business lines and initiatives within the country.
- Collaborate with local teams to offer expertise on global tax requirements, including direct and indirect taxes, withholding taxes, self-assessed taxes, supplier/customer tax withholding, and payment processes.
- Provide tax advisory support for day-to-day operations and new product launches.
- Assist management with special tax projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and other assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with external audit requirements in designated areas of responsibility.
- Offer insights to core business teams regarding the tax implications of various activities.
- Facilitate communication between the tax and business teams, supplying data to aid decision-making.
**Basic Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting or similar
- +10 years of experience in Big 4 or law firm experience strongly preferred with in-house background, ideally in Fortune 500, US based corporation
- Strong international tax operations knowledge and familiarity of tax issues for a multinational company operating globally
- Project management skill set
- You're bilingual in data and storytelling, and know how to translate technical analysis into a human narrative
- Data is your bottom line; you use business judgement and experimentation to measure the impact of taxes to our growth and profitability
- Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment
- Strong organizational, technical, analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in English and Portuguse flluency
