Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer Position

We are seeking a remote full-time senior software engineer with 5+ years of software development experience to play a foundational role in building the core platform that enables power utilities to shift from decades-old legacy systems into an AI-native future.Key ResponsibilitiesFront-end development: build, implement, and maintain front-end applications using cutting-edge technologies.Back-end architecture & development: design, implement, and maintain APIs, services, and distributed systems that form the backbone of our operating system.AI integration: collaborate with AI engineers to integrate models, embeddings, and agent services into back-end systems.System modernization: transform legacy workflows into modern, secure, scalable codebases using cloud-native best practices.Security & compliance: partner with security leaders to ensure all services adhere to stringent utility-sector regulations, implementing secure coding practices by default.You will work in small agile teams reporting directly to the CTO collaborating closely with AI engineers, security leaders, and product managers.Together you will build and deliver AI-native services delivered at startup speed.The core objective is to build an AI-centric operating system for utilities harnessing AI at the enterprise level to better orchestrate customer delight, facilitate power optimization, improve the health of the grid, and unlock flexibility at scale.To achieve this goal, we require:Excellent English communication skills5+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS or enterprise environmentsStrong proficiency in React, Python, and either Golang, Node.js, or Java (non-Golang developers will learn and adopt Golang on the job)Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality code in fast-moving teamsBasic proficiency with AI/ML tooling (e.g., calling APIs, integrating model outputs)Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), message queues, and distributed architecturesAbout Us:We are a nearshore software development company providing outsourced development resources to North American companies.Our mission is to offer development talent who enjoy taking on challenging work want to grow their skills and experiences building software and excel in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
