Accounting Manager

If so, you could be a strong fit for theAccounting Manager / Junior Regional Controllerrole we currently have available at Team Liquid.In this role, you will execute and coordinate Brazil-based accounting and finance activities in partnership with Global Finance and external advisors. You will own the local month-end close, ensure compliance with Brazilian laws and regulations, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and manage audits and government reporting. You will also play a key role in improving financial processes, contributing to operational initiatives, and identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.What You'll Be Doing:Accounting & FinanceManage and execute the Brazil portion of the month-end close and prepare local financial reportingContribute to quarterly and annual forecasts and budgetsCoordinate and manage annual tax filings and ongoing fiscal obligations in BrazilManage audits and all required government reportingEnsure compliance with Brazilian tax laws and fiscal regulationsIdentify and evaluate financial optimization opportunities, including subsidiesReview, maintain, and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controlsServe as a financial advisor to management, providing clear insights and recommendationsAct as the primary point of contact with third-party accounting firms, including reviewing and evaluating their servicesOversee departmental purchasing activity and identify cost-reduction opportunitiesReview and manage entries, payments, receivables, and reconciliationsOperationsPartner with the Global Facilities Manager to:Identify workflow inefficiencies and operational friction pointsDevelop, document, and maintain operational policies and procedures for BrazilContribute to regional budget planning, tracking, and reportingProvide budgetary and financial input for Brazil-based projects, including:Facility-related initiativesInsurance coverage oversight and claims coordinationCoordination with internal teams, vendors, and external partnersWhat You'll Need:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration5–7 years of experience in an accounting or finance role within BrazilStrong working knowledge of Brazilian fiscal laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirementsHands on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, and government reportingExperience working with US GAAP reporting in a multinational environmentActive registration with the CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) is required.Experience creating, managing, and tracking regional budgets and forecastsStrong organizational skills and high attention to detailProven ability to manage deadlines and operate with minimal oversight.Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and vendorsComfort presenting financial data and resultsStrong results-focused problem-solving and time-management skillsFluency in Portuguese and EnglishProficiency with Excel and financial or expense management systemsYou'll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:Experience with additional accounting softwareBackground in creating and managing regional budgetsDeep expertise in operational policies and practicesExperience working in a startup or high-growth environmentExperience working for international or US-based companies operating in BrazilComfort presenting financial insights to non-finance audiences
