Based in Londrina, Paraná - BrazilPlatform Science is hiring a Specialist Embedded Software Engineer to be a core technical leader on our Video Platform Team.
In this role, you will be essential in defining the architecture, strategy, and technical roadmap for our next-generation video solutions.
You'll work at the meeting point of complex technical challenges and business goals, playing a key role in our mission to make transportation smart.This is a high-impact position for an expert who not only writes exceptional code but also mentors and elevates the entire team.
You are a recognized leader in the embedded systems space and comfortable making critical decisions even with limited information.Key Responsibilities:Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture for our embedded video platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term maintainabilityServe as the technical reference for complex embedded software challenges, providing deep expertise and guidance to the teamLead the end-to-end development of robust embedded solutions, from high-level design to low-level implementation for global vehicle marketsConduct and lead comprehensive in-vehicle testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate system performanceAct as a key technical point of contact for global hardware suppliers, providing expertise and support to troubleshoot and enhance product functionalitiesCollaborate closely with Platform Science teams across regions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment on project goalsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Demonstrated ownership of the entire software lifecycle, from initial concept to mass-market launchExtensive experience in software development using C, C++, Python, and Bash, with proven ability to architect and launch complex systemsDeep expertise in embedded Linux and practical knowledge of hardware interfaces like CAN, GPS, WiFi, and BluetoothHands-on experience with MQTT, SQL, and CAN Bus protocols (J1939 and OBD-II)Proven expertise in applying computer vision and machine learning to solve complex, real-world problemsProficiency in video processing and real-time streamingA solid understanding of system-level optimization, unit testing, and continuous integration.Practical knowledge of virtualization and containerizationProficiency with version control systems (Git) and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)Professional fluency in English with excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical teamsWill be considered a plus:Background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for device integrationProven expertise with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) or Android-based embedded systems.Experience with Kotlin, Java, and Go languages.Prior work in the transportation or automotive industryHands-on experience with hardware design and schematics
